Conversion and expansion of the Zeppelinstraße daycare center to include a U3 area, Böblingen (BW)

Böblingen is modernizing its daycare facilities and creating expanded childcare options. Most recently, it was decided to construct an extension for two under-3 groups at the Zeppelinstraße daycare center and to commission our firm with the planning, tendering, and construction management. Based on the pedagogical concepts for childcare for children under three, the necessary functions and requirements were planned and documented.
The developed concept envisioned restructuring the existing north wing of the daycare center and adapting it to the new requirements.
For reasons of time and cost, in addition to design aspects, a cross-laminated timber ceiling was installed above the development area, the roof was covered with suitable UV-resistant roofing felt, the glass facade (partially triple glazed) in the group rooms facing the greened inner courtyard was constructed with a painted wooden superstructure with aluminum cover profiles, wooden facade (pine).
