Conversion, energy-efficient renovation and modernization of a residential building at DRZ, Sindelfingen (BW)

The detached house with granny flat and garage was extensively renovated, its energy efficiency improved, and the outdoor facilities redesigned.

The entire building envelope (roof, walls, windows) underwent energy-efficient renovation and upgrades. Old windows were replaced with new, highly insulated windows (triple-glazed, wood/aluminum frames) including burglar protection. The facade was redesigned with an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Old radiators were replaced with new ones and integrated into the existing heating system, which is in good condition. Balconies were thermally broken to address existing thermal bridges and fitted with newly designed steel railings. Preparations were made for the installation of a photovoltaic system with battery storage; the owners wanted to observe the rapid pace of technological advancements first.
