The property is located in Stuttgart-Degerloch on Obere Weinsteige, at the corner of Jahnstraße, near the light rail station. The new cityscape created by the building in Stuttgart's south is primarily defined by its distinctive spire, which is immediately noticeable upon entering the city. From the office building itself, one can enjoy unobstructed views across the Stuttgart basin.
Flexible floor plans allowed each floor to be individually developed, thus meeting the needs of the tenants themselves.
The unique feature of the Wilhelmshöhe office and commercial building lies in its cooling system. To prevent the building from overheating in summer and to allow it to cool down sufficiently overnight, a cooling system was integrated within the concrete ceilings. During periods of high heat load, chilled water is circulated through a pipe system, cooling the solid ceiling. This cold storage system optimally reduces room temperatures during hot days, taking both economic and environmental factors into account.
An urban planning report formed the basis for the development plan. Building on this report, our work from the very beginning focused not only on the urban planning and architecture of the building, but also, and especially, on taking into account the economic interests of the client.
Soundproof glazing, component cooling within the concrete ceilings, supply and exhaust air system with cooling and heat recovery, green roof areas, raised floors with floor electrical outlets are part of the concept.
The premises were occupied in 2013 by Recaro Holding, among others, with their Design Center, which we are particularly pleased about.
